FAQ

You can submit a request through our Book Service page or email us at Service@novaevservice.ca. Please include your vehicle’s year, make, model, and a brief description of the concern.

Appointments are recommended. Walk-ins may be accepted for urgent concerns or simple services, depending on shop capacity and the vehicle’s condition. Immediate service is not guaranteed, and wait times cannot be confirmed in advance. Vehicles with a suspected battery fire, overheating, collision damage, or serious high-voltage risk should not be driven to the shop—contact emergency services or NOVA first.

Yes. NOVA provides wheel alignment and wheel balancing using industry-leading Hunter equipment. Proper alignment and wheel balance are especially important for EVs because of their additional weight, immediate torque, suspension characteristics, and sensitivity to tire wear. Accurate service may help improve handling, ride quality, tire life, and overall driving stability. Appointments are recommended, but walk-ins may be accepted depending on shop capacity. Immediate service and wait times cannot be guaranteed.

No. Your appointment is a scheduled drop-off time, not a guaranteed service start or completion time. EV diagnostics and repairs may take longer than expected depending on the condition of the vehicle, fault complexity, parts availability, and required testing.

Service time depends on the concern and the diagnostic findings. Some issues can be assessed the same day, while intermittent faults, high-voltage concerns, programming, parts replacement, or extended testing may require additional time. We will provide updates when more information becomes available.

Please include the year, make, model, approximate mileage, warning messages, symptoms, when the issue started, and any recent collision, charging, water, battery, electrical, software, or repair history. Photos or screenshots of warning messages may also be helpful.

No. NOVA EV SERVICE does not install customer-supplied parts. All parts must be sourced or approved by NOVA to help ensure compatibility, safety, repair quality, and warranty support.

Yes. Diagnostic testing is a professional service and may involve vehicle scanning, electrical measurements, research, disassembly, road testing, charging, or extended monitoring. Diagnostic charges may still apply if the issue cannot be duplicated, the repair is declined, or the required part or technical information is unavailable.

Yes. Booking or dropping off your vehicle does not authorize additional repairs or charges. We will provide an estimate or explain the recommended work and obtain your authorization before proceeding, as required by Ontario law.

Not always. Similar symptoms can have different causes, especially in electrical and high-voltage systems. We may be able to estimate the initial diagnostic cost, but repair pricing can usually be confirmed only after the cause has been identified and parts availability has been checked.

Service availability depends on the vehicle, system, required equipment, technical information, parts access, and condition of the vehicle. Submit the year, make, model, and concern through our booking form so we can review the request before confirming service.

We only diagnose selected high-voltage battery, isolation, interlock, contactor, wiring, charging, and power-distribution concerns.

Stop driving or charging the vehicle if the manufacturer’s warning instructs you to do so, or if you notice smoke, unusual heat, popping sounds, leaking fluid, a chemical smell, or signs of fire. Move away from the vehicle and contact emergency services when necessary.

That depends on the warning and the vehicle’s condition. If the vehicle has been involved in a collision, exposed to water, is overheating, will not enter drive, has a serious high-voltage warning, or appears unsafe, contact us before driving it. Towing may be required.

We provide programming, configuration, and calibration for supported vehicles and systems. Availability depends on manufacturer access, compatible equipment, server availability, vehicle condition, and the component being replaced or repaired.

NOVA EV SERVICE is an independent EV service provider unless expressly stated otherwise. Some recalls, warranty repairs, service campaigns, security functions, or manufacturer-restricted procedures may need to be completed by an authorized dealership.

Warranty coverage depends on the manufacturer’s terms and the specific repair. Customers should confirm any manufacturer, lease, insurer, or extended-warranty requirements before authorizing work. Certain warranty repairs and recalls may need to be handled by an authorized dealership.

Unless otherwise stated on the repair order or invoice, eligible parts supplied and installed by NOVA and the related installation labour are covered for 1 year or 20,000 kilometres, whichever occurs first. Warranty coverage does not include normal wear, unrelated faults, misuse, collision or water damage, unauthorized modifications, work altered by others, or damage caused by continuing to drive or charge the vehicle after a documented safety warning. All applicable statutory rights remain unaffected.

Yes. We welcome service requests from individual EV owners, fleets, ride-share drivers, and automotive businesses. Contact us to discuss the vehicles, required service, scheduling, and billing arrangements.

Available payment methods will be confirmed by NOVA. Payment is due before the vehicle is released unless another arrangement has been approved in writing.

Please arrange pickup promptly after being notified that the vehicle is ready or that service has been completed or declined. Any applicable storage or safety-isolation charges and their start time will be disclosed as required.

Please contact NOVA as soon as possible if you cannot attend your appointment. Any applicable deposit, cancellation, or no-show policy will be disclosed before the booking is confirmed.

We will explain the findings and request your authorization before performing additional chargeable work. You may approve or decline the recommended work, but completed and properly authorized diagnostic services remain payable.

Parts availability and delivery times can vary, especially for EV-specific, high-voltage, electronic, programmed, rebuilt, or special-order components. We will discuss available options and estimated timelines before ordering or installing parts.

Yes. Please remove all valuables and personal belongings before leaving your vehicle with NOVA. NOVA is not responsible for the loss, theft, or damage of personal property left in or attached to the vehicle, except to the extent legally caused by NOVA or where liability cannot be excluded under applicable law.

NOVA may photograph the vehicle, mileage, state of charge, warning messages, visible condition, and relevant components for diagnosis, service documentation, and legal compliance. Vehicle data may also be accessed when reasonably required for the authorized work.

Please disclose dash cameras, cabin cameras, tracking devices, or other recording equipment before service. Devices may need to be disabled or disconnected where reasonably necessary for technician privacy, safety, diagnosis, or repair.

Contact NOVA before arranging delivery of a disabled or potentially unsafe vehicle. We will advise whether the vehicle may be accepted and whether special towing, safety isolation, or handling arrangements may be required. Towing charges are separate unless confirmed otherwise.

Loaner vehicles, shuttle service, ride-share reimbursement, and rental coverage are not guaranteed unless confirmed in writing. Customers should arrange transportation when dropping off a vehicle.

Payment for authorized services is due before the vehicle is released unless another arrangement has been approved in writing. Charges may include diagnostics, labour, parts, programming, calibration, towing, storage, disposal, taxes, and approved third-party services.
